Drug Diversion - PC1000
A. K. Bean Foundation provides a court-ordered diversion program for first time offenders who have been arrested and charged with “personal use” drug offenses, such as possession of or use of small quantities of illegal drugs. They are given the opportunity of attending a treatment program in lieu of incarceration and upon successful completion will have the charges dismissed.
Participants attend one group meeting and one individual counseling session per week for 12 weeks and undergo random drug testing. In addition, program services also include: educational sessions concerning drug abuse, HIV infection, AIDS, and tuberculosis as related to substance abuse. Involvement in a traditional self-help program is also required. This is a fee for service program.
